Dr Allison Choong


Allison graduated from The University of Melbourne and went on to undertake obstetric and gynaecology training at the Royal's Women's Hospital and Northern Health. Thereafter, Allison undertook advanced training with a 2-year Ultrasound Fellowship at the Royal Women's Hospital, and subsequently acquired a sub-specialist qualification in diagnostic ultrasound from the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM).
Allison manages both low and high-risk pregnancies. She pioneered the establishment of the twin pregnancy clinic at Northern Health and the dedicated care has seen improved neonatal outcomes, reduced late preterm deliveries and increased maternal satisfaction.
Allison has a strong respect for patient choice. She provides up-to-date medical information and guidance to assist women in making informed decisions about their own health. Allison is committed to providing excellent care and is experienced in all areas of general gynaecology. Allison is also an advanced laparoscopic surgeon. She has completed an Advanced Laparoscopy Fellowship (2022/2023) in Taiwan with the Asia Pacific Association for Gynaecological Endoscopy and Minimally Invasive Therapy (APAGE).
Allison works as a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at Northern Health and Eastern Health and is a training supervisor for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Allison is also a sonologist at Northern Imaging Victoria and Berwick Ultrasound for Women. Allison consults privately at Eastern Gynaecology.
